There are four amendments to the Constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them.

Accepted answers
- Citizens eighteen (18) and older (can vote).
- You don’t have to pay (a poll tax) to vote.
- Any citizen can vote. (Women and men can vote.)
- A male citizen of any race (can vote).
Any one of these is accepted, unless the question asks for more than one.
Why this is the answer
You only have to describe one of the four, and each one opened the vote to people who had been shut out. The 15th Amendment, written after the Civil War and the end of slavery, let American men of all races vote. The 19th gave women the vote, the result of the women's suffrage movement. The 24th banned poll taxes, the fees some southern leaders invented to keep African Americans from the polls after the 15th passed. The 26th lowered the voting age from 21 to 18.
