Only the 50 states elect senators, so that is the answer the officer expects here.

The District of Columbia elects one member of the House for the whole district, so there is a single answer. A delegate takes part in the work of the House but does not vote on the floor; saying that the District of Columbia has no voting representative is also accepted.
Who is the governor of your state now?
The District of Columbia does not have a governor.
That is the answer the officer expects. The District of Columbia is not a state; its executive is a mayor, and the office is held by Muriel Bowser.
